Privacy Policy

Strut (“Strut”, “we”, “us”) provides cash advances to online creators against income they have already earned. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the Strut application (the “Service”).

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use the Service you may provide your email address, the platforms you earn on, and a self-reported estimate of your monthly income. If you apply for an advance you may also upload a bank statement so we can verify your income.

Information from Google (YouTube). If you choose to connect your YouTube channel, you grant us access through Google OAuth. With your permission we read:

• Your channel profile — channel name, handle, thumbnail, and account age;
• Channel statistics — subscriber count, view counts, and video count;
• YouTube Analytics estimated revenue (monetary data) for your channel.

We request the minimum scopes needed to estimate your income and never ask for the ability to post, edit, or delete anything on your channel.

Information collected automatically. Basic technical data such as your device type and approximate region, used to operate and secure the Service.

How we use your information

• To estimate your income and assess eligibility for an advance;
• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• To contact you about your account, your place on our waitlist, and our launch;
• To prevent fraud and comply with our legal obligations.

How Strut uses Google user data

Strut’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, the YouTube data we access is used only to estimate your creator income and present your advance offer. We do not:

• sell this data, or use it for advertising;
• use it for any purpose other than providing the income-verification features you requested;
• transfer it to others except as needed to run the Service (see “Sharing”), to comply with law, or as part of a merger with your notice, and never in a way the policy prohibits;
• allow humans to read it, except with your consent, for security or to comply with law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host and run the Service on our behalf (for example, our cloud hosting and storage provider, Vercel), under confidentiality obligations;
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal requirements. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing hello@usestrut.com.

You can revoke Strut’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you revoke access or request deletion, we delete the Google user data we hold about you, except where we must retain it to comply with law.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can access it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@usestrut.com.

Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
